Swissmatic Ltd. specialise in the production of high precision machined components for a wide range of industries including, the Electronics, Mechatronics, Telecommunications, Computer, Instrument and Defence industries. A factory wide networked computer system for Quality assurance and Production Control assists the company in producing what their customers require when they require it.

Swissmatic have been a valued OnTrack customer for several years during which we have supplied and installed standard IT equipment such as servers and PC’s. Recently Swissmatic installed broadband to provide faster internet access. Their requirement to provide remote access to their employees, some of whom travel around the world on company business, prompted some concerns about security. After consultation with the customer OnTrack provided a solution which used a combination of hardware and software, including Fob Keys with constantly changing access codes, to provide secure VPN access to Swissmatic’s system for their remote users.

Park Systems Furniture, who are dedicated Contract Office Furnishers, was formed in 1986. The company has earned an enviable reputation by offering consultation in areas such as defining business needs, organisational assessment and space requirements and providing furniture products across a range of environments from standard office, to executive offices, through conference centres, to auditoriums.

OnTrack Systems have had the privilege of working with and supporting Park Systems for many years. Recent business expansion has lead to a requirement for a faster link to the internet. After discussions with OnTrack a new broadband service has been implemented, with a new firewall and anti-virus software being provided to enhance security. Various options are currently under review aimed at replacing the current server and PC’s in a number of planned phases in the immediate future. When complete this exercise will result in a modernised IT environment designed to support the company’s continued success.

Oak Tree Housing Association http://www.oaktreeha.org.uk/

Oak Tree Housing Association Ltd came into being in 2001 following the merger of Bow Farm Housing Association Ltd, James Watt Housing Association Ltd and Victoria Housing Association. The Association is responsible for delivering Housing Management, Maintenance and Factoring services to a number of communities in the Western Inverclyde Area and is committed to ensuring that future development activity focuses on regeneration and sustainability.

Following a competitive tender exercise Oak Tree Housing Association selected OnTrack Systems Limited to provide support for their IT systems. The Association operates from two offices in Greenock and we managed a successful project to implement a Wide Area Network linking the two offices and creating a multi-server, cross-site IT environment for their users. Three new servers and a number of new PC’s were supplied and installed by OnTrack during this exercise. We also analysed Oak Tree’s telephone charges and proposed a solution that resulted in a significant increase in line speed, improved system stability and significantly reduced line and call charges.

Cloch Housing Association is a provider of rented and shared ownership accommodation based in Greenock in the west coast of Scotland. The Association was origionally formed in 1968 under the name of Christian Action (Greenock) Housing Association Limited with the objective of providing suitable and affordable housing for rent to reduce the flow of young families leaving the Inverclyde District.

Cloch Housing Association selected OnTrack Systems Limited to provide IT support after competitive tender. We have supplied and installed a new server, a new firewall server and a number of new PC’s which were needed due to office expansion. This project also involved migrating their Operating System from Novell to Windows 2000 and migrating their Anti-Virus software to a Sophos solution.

A & F Riddell Printers

A & F Riddell is a printing company based in Glasgow.

A & F Riddell selected OnTrack Systems Limited to develop bespoke software to replace there aging and unsupported Unix system. We created a requirement analysis to get the system on paper before any development took place. Working closely with Riddell's staff we went to work developing the system. The system was developed in Visual Basic .net with MSDE (SQL Server Desktop edition) as the package chosen to store the data. The system also integrates with Sage Line 50 for invoicing. The system is now in operation.
